Gwen Fulcher Young is the retired president and broker of Gwen Fulcher Young and Associates Real Estate Company.

Licensed in 1977, she retired after over 35 active years in the business in Augusta, Georgia. She was the first woman to receive the coveted Commercial Trophy awarded by The Augusta Board of Realtors, Inc., as well as numerous other awards for results in the practice of both residential and commercial real estate brokerage. Gwen holds many professional designations, including Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Certified Residential Broker (CRB), and was inducted into The International Real Estate Hall of Fame. Gwen continues to keep her licenses current and still helps clients after 48 years.

Her company philosophy "My Priorities Are Simple... They're Yours" is trademarked by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Appointed by governors Perdue and Deal, Gwen served over nine (9) years as a member of The Georgia Real Estate Commission. She retired in 2013 from the regulatory board which licenses and regulates all real estate brokers, agents, and real estate transactions in Georgia. She was the only woman on the board, serving two (2) terms as Chairman. Early in Gwen’s working career she served as the first woman Head Teller for C&S Bank and was the first female member of The Pinnacle Club.

Active in community life, in 1988 Gwen co-founded the popular Tuesday's Music Live Concert Series which continues today. She also founded the annual Christmas Tree lighting Service at Church of the Good Shepherd. Gwen was an organizing member of Women in Philanthropy, and was named a Woman of Excellence. She is a National Master Flower Show Judge Emeritus, a Georgia Master Naturalist and a Certified Landscape Design Consultant.

Quite the adventurer, Ms. Fulcher Young has landed on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, made a dive in the Trident Submarine USS Jackson, flown backseat in a L-39 Soviet Fighter Jet, observed an aerial refueling of an F16 fighter jet from a USAF KC135 tanker aircraft, and sky dived with the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team.

She is married to Bob Young, former Mayor of Augusta. Married in 1989 at historic St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Youngs are members of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. In retirement, Gwen enjoys focusing on gardening and sharing her expertise with others. She remains active in garden club activities having served as president of both Garden Arts Garden Club and Pine Needle Garden Club.
